TANGO – In this era of social networking, it is expected that tech-start-ups will be coming up from all angle to promote a different idea that does not exist yet or to give a better aesthetic user interface that an existing platform doesn’t provide its users.
The Tango app came into the picture in the year 2009 to promote the idea of cross-platform interaction through social media. As the name itself indicates two partners dancing in a spectacular romance duel, it has made online audio/video calls way much better while promoting social media dating processes.
With tango, audio/video calls can be made in a world-wide scale and at a cheaper rate. Video calls doesn’t have to be boring with the participants just looking over their phones, they can carry out a lot of other activities like playing of games and using of masks i.e. to mention but a few.
Tango has millions of users all around the globe ranging as much as 280million. At first tango was launched as the first cross-platform call app with the sole mission of bringing people together through a user friendly platform (tango) but they later expanded into social networking as a means to attract users to the services they render.

Setting up Tango is easy. Just load the Apple App Store or Google play store to download the latest version and almost all of its features are free. I used almost because it also offers some in-house purchases through third party sites but when you successfully download it, the next step will be to create an account and start making calls within seconds by simply entering your phone number. Go further to complete set-up by choosing a username, inserting an email address and that’s all the basics that are necessary.
The word should be referring to two people having a tango but with this app one you can tango with up to 50 people and it has about a billion features that make it fall under the “all-in-one” social networking app.
Then there’s the question of if it’s a safe place for kids and the answer is yes. It has multi-platform capabilities that enables an iOS enabled device to interact with an android device without any difficulty. Thus this gives friends using different operating systems the ability to interact through texting, audio/video calls, group chats and these are features that teens relate to.
